Peak Climbing

Singu Chuli Peak Climbing

Posted by: | Date: February 13, 2010

Singu Chuli Peak (6501m) is also known as the fluted peak. The peak is proven to be very difficult to climb for most commercial climbing groups who wish to concentrate on Tent Peak. It is the major summit on the long ridge spread down from Tarke Kang (Glacier Dome), which has separated the South and West Annapurna Glaciers. Annapurna South Base Camp provides the scenic distant view of the mountain. This mountain lies to the North of Tharpu Chuli along a connecting ridge. Singu Chuli is in a much stiffer proposition than Tharpu Chuli, and is the highest of all the trekking peaks in the area. The normal approach is a day or two beyond Machapuchere Base Camp and has the remotest feel of all the trekking peaks in the area. The mountain is often climbed after an acclimatization ascent of Tharpu Chuli.
